I have been dreaming up ideas to make cute little Christmas trees for quite a while now. Many ideas for these little Christmas trees were going around in my head, but one day I was at my local hardware store & I stumbled across some pine kindling & knew I had to make some Christmas trees out of it.

These little guys were pretty simple to make. The hardest part was that each piece of kindling is unique & it doesn’t fit together like a puzzle. You just have to work with the kindling until you get it the way you want it. Like I said, I purchased my kindling at my local hardware store, but I searched it online & I found it on Amazon {here}. I did not have that big of a bag {I payed about 7 dollars for a bag that was enough for 3 trees.} You can use wood shims found at any hardware store, make your own kindling, really any wood pieces will work!

I started with 3 styrofoam cones from Michaels. I emptied the bag of pine pieces & sorted them by sizes. I started at the bottom & did a layer all along the bottom by hot glueing them to the styrofoam. After that I did the top layer {adding one shim on the point at  the top first to lean the top layer on} After the top layer was done. I added a middle layer to hide the seam between the top and bottom layers. All of this was done with hot glue which worked pretty nicely for this project.
