Hi friends! So I am very close to revealing the front guest bedroom to you. There were so many little DIY projects that went into this room including these DIY “No sew” chord covers. Back up to when I found these barn lights at Hobby Lobby.. I know right? Yes, Hobby Lobby! You might pass out when I tell you how much I payed too. So take a seat. As I was browsing through the clearance section way before I even started re-doing this room I spotted these little babies for 80% off… I didn’t even know that discount existed for such cute things. I snatched them up for $7 a piece!!!!! Can you believe it? I didn’t know what I was going to do with them, but I knew that I had to have them. After I hung them, I knew the cords had to go. Or in this case be hidden. Fast forward to when I knew that I was going to makeover the front bedroom & knew these lights would go in the room,  I was browsing for fabric for my DIY fabric garland at walmart I came across a neutral fabric and the idea for a chord cover came to me, & since I do not like sewing, hot glue was my best friend for these no sew cord covers…

& before you get overwhelmed at this project, stop. Please stop. Just go and get your glue gun out of your drawer, grab some fabric, sit on floor with your cord that you want to cover & listen up. It’s really too easy & pretty quick. Be careful, you might burn yourself a million times, or maybe that’s just me.  Anyways there may be a thousand ways to do this, but here is how I made mine…

Cut your yard of fabric into strips. I chose to do my strips about 3 inches wide. For all you OCD people out there you do not have to do this perfectly, later you will be tucking all the sides in as you glue so no edges will be visable. Thankfully I am not a perfectionist about these kind of things so this was pretty simple for me. Next lay your cord on the first strip. Place a strip of glue inside the fabric & roll the fabric around the cord so that the edges are tucked in and the cord is completely covered. Just don’t glue the fabric to the cord as this will not allow you to scrunch the fabric down. After you have one strip glued around the cord, begin scrunching it down to your liking as shown above. Keep repeating this with your strips that you cut out until your cord is covered. My cord took about 8 strips to cover it completely.

Isn’t that pretty awesome? Such a simple fix that makes the cord look like it’s on purpose, like I wanted it there. So much scrunchy goodness. You could do this with burlap, colored fabric, patterned fabric, & so much more. You could do this with lamps, and any light, chandelier, any light with a visible cord or chain.
