Hey guys! So a while back I had Instagramed a picture of my new DIY curtains {here}, & I’m finally blogging about them.. Sometimes I am doing so many projects at once that I forget to blog about them. That’s why many of my DIY’s don’t go on the blog.. I should do a post on “Liz Marie’s Lost Projects” featuring all of those projects that were never posted about. What do you think? 🙂 Anyways I wanted to show you how I “made” these floor length curtains for less then $10 a panel.

These lovely curtains are actually tablecloths, yes, you read that right. I bought these tablecloths from Bed Bath & Beyond {here}. You can order them online or find them in your local store. My local store did not carry them, so an associate at my store actually ordered them in the store & sent them to my home with free shipping. If you use your 20% off coupon it brings the price to around $10 per tablecloth. Please excuse the cell phone pictures I took of the tablecoths before we hung them up… I was too impatient to get my camera out…

Before hanging them I had to run them through the dryer to release all the wrinkles on the tablecloths. I hung the tablecloths with ring clips purchased from Lowe’s for about $5 a pack. I needed four tablecloths & four packages of clips for our living room. Each panel requires about one pack of rings, you can do more or less, it’s your preference.

Before these DIY curtains, we had {these} curtains from Pottery Barn. I loved them for a long time, but when we got our white couches, the cream color wasn’t cutting it anymore & I didn’t like the length on our windows. The fact that they didn’t touch the floor made my OCD spike daily!! Here is a quick picture I took before we hung our DIY curtains…

If you didn’t notice we also raised both of the curtain rods up 8″ which also helped make the window area look larger & made the ceilings appear higher as well. I love how the curtains puddle on the floor creating a warm romantic feeling. I feel like it makes our living room cozy & inviting.

Our living room is always so bright.. so here is a picture with the blinds closed. I am not complaining though, I do love all the natural light our living room gets. I may decided to hem these babies one day, but for now I’m enjoying all of the extra fabric & the extra added element of drama that they add to the room.

What do you think of these DIY floor length curtains for cheap?? I am a little obsessed with them & how they look so shabby chic along with our white couches. Our master bedroom makeover is underway & we sold our entire bedroom set, bought all new linens for the room, & also cleaned out our closets {ick!} All while I am taking midterms for all of my classes, have I mentioned how ready I am for this semester to be over with?
